Mold is a microscopic fungus that spreads in the presence of water and humidity. It is most often found on wood and plaster, especially around piping and windows.

WHY REMOVE IT?

The presence of mold can give many symptoms that are noticeable to those of the common cold. Runny nose, eye irritation, nasal congestion, and respiratory disease. It is therefore important to eliminate it from its living environment. Despite the fact that not all people necessarily experience these effects, mold is itself harmful to health.

Those most affected are young children, the elderly and asthmatics. They are more at risk due to their more precarious health.

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF MOLD?

It can take several weeks for the occupant of a home to find out that they have mold. It may take a long time for the fungus to be visible. The main signs are brownish stains on the walls, floors and ceilings. You may also notice signs of buckling or swelling indicating the presence of concealed mold.

On the other hand, the occupant often begins to experience symptoms of a cold that persist and refuse to go away. Sometimes people may not have any symptoms. Eventually, however, they detect a strong musty odor or abnormal humidity using their sense of smell.

HOW DO WE PROCEED FOR DECONTAMINATION?

When mold is minimal, we apply a product that kills the bacteria stopping its spread. We mainly use this method when the contamination is on a concrete surface.

Otherwise, we have no choice but to demolish the contaminated area. Afterwards, it is essential to find the source of the flow otherwise the problem will come back.
