ASBESTOS

Asbestos is a mineral that was formerly used as an insulation. Useful against heat, fire and against electrical tensions. Almost 100 years after it began to be used, researchers have discovered that asbestos fibers are harmful. The latter, which were released during handling of the mineral, posed a risk when inhaled.

WHY REMOVE IT?

Asbestos is not dangerous when there is no direct handling. On the other hand, it often causes problems when selling a house. It is present in almost all construction before the 1990s. Asbestos must be removed to prevent a loss in value of your property. This is because buyers often demand a drop in the sale price of several thousand dollars. Some, through an inspector, will even require that the decontamination work be carried out before the signing of the sales contract.

Unlike vermiculite, asbestos panels or elbows can only be removed by hand. When handled, asbestos dust is dangerous. They must be controlled according to well-established procedures and protocols.

Whether in the attic, walls or floors, we always work in a safe manner by mobilizing closed work areas. We use negative pressure machines to filter the air, HEPA certified vacuum equipment, and premium glue products to encapsulate decontaminated surfaces.

Throughout the execution of the work, we make sure that dust remains inside the work areas. This aims to protect the other occupants of the house and prevent overall contamination of the house.

AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT

In order to validate the conformity of the work, an air test is carried out at the end of it. We have a sample analyzed to provide you with tangible and scientific proof of the quality of the breathing air in your home. A report certifying compliance is also given to you.

It should be noted that to avoid any conflict of interest, the final air test is performed by an external firm for which the mandate is to act as an intermediary between the decontamination company and the customer.
